TIG Fabricator - Backshift
We are currently hiring Fabricators for an industry leader in the Building Services sector, specialising in the manufacture of offsite-prefabricated building service solutions for projects throughout the UK & Europe.
Hours: Monday-Thursday 16:45-03:45 (40 hours)
Rate: Competitive rates, dependent on experience. Overtime paid at at 1.5.
Job Summary
You will be responsible for fabricating pipe arrangements from shop drawings, ensuring compliance with company standards while adhering to health and safety processes. The role requires a detail-oriented fabricator capable of interpreting drawings and meeting strict quality control measures.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and fully understand the pipe fabrication drawings for each project.
- Fabricate pipe sets for various pipe diameters (typically carbon steel & stainless steel pipe ranging from 65mm – 500mm) from shop drawings.
- Ensure company welding procedures are adhered to and pipe preparation and fit up is carried out to the correct standard.
- Liaise regularly with Quality Control regarding any defects and any non-conformances.
- To undertake training in line with company standards and complete Cross Training in various welding activities.
- Ensure Company H&S Processes followed.
- Ensuring allocated work progresses in a timely manner and in accordance with workload and specifications.
- Maintain a good working relationship with colleagues, whilst maintaining a high level of productivity.
- To operate TIG welding equipment, use precision measurement instruments and metal cutting and grinding equipment.
- Responsible for highlighting any faults or damage to the machine and its tooling.
- Clean tools, equipment, and work areas
Requirements:
Essential:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as an established TIG fabricator, particularly in pipe fabrication.
- Ability to interpret welding procedure requirements.
- Proficient use of shop floor hand tools, including grinders and hand plasmas.
- Confident in understanding shop fabrication and assembly drawings.
Desirable:
- Previous experience as a pipe fabricator, capable of producing various pipe arrangements with TIG/MAG and MMA welding.
- Experience in heavy fabrication, architectural steelwork, or related welding environments.
