We are currently hiring Steel Fabricators for an industry leader in the Building Services sector, specialising in the manufacture of offsite-prefabricated building service solutions for projects throughout the UK & Europe.

Job Summary

 In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating a range of pipe arrangements to support skilled welders. The successful candidate will work with carbon steel pipes, typically ranging from 65mm to 150mm, and will have the opportunity to develop welding skills across various disciplines including TIG, MMA, and MAG. 

Hours: Monday-Thursday 07:00-17:00 Friday 07:00-16:00 (44 hours)

Rate: Competitive rates, dependent on experience. Overtime paid at at 1.5. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow direction from Site Supervisor regarding work requirements.
  • Read and comprehend pipe fabrication drawings for projects.
  • Fabricate and weld pipe sets adhering to company procedures and standards.
  • Liaise with Quality Control to address defects and non-conformances.
  • Complete cross-training in various welding tasks for department coverage.
  • Adhere to company Health & Safety processes.
  • Maintain timely progression of allocated work per specifications.
  • Operate MIG/TIG or MMA welding equipment.
  • Utilize precision measurement instruments and metal cutting/grinding equipment.
  • Able to highlight any faults or damages to machines and tools.
  • Clean tools, equipment, and maintain work areas to a high standard.
  • Perform additional duties as required by management.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a fabricator welder in Pipe Fabrication and Welding.
  • Ability to interpret welding procedure requirements.
  • Proficient in using shop floor hand tools.
  • Strong understanding of shop fabrication and assembly drawings.
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships and high productivity.

Desirable:

  • Experience as a pipe fabricator with TIG/MAG and knowledgeable in MMA.
  • Background in heavy fabrication or architectural steelwork welding environments.
