There is life outside of London, and it’s in LEEDS!


Leeds has become THE city to live and work, find out why…



Being the second largest Metropolitan district in England, Leeds has an estimated population of 780,000, with the entire West Yorkshire Urban Area population being estimated at around 1.8 million. In the past 5 years, the number of Londoners moving to Leeds has risen by 58% from 2,720 to 4,296 in 2018.


The Leeds economy is estimated to be worth £21.3 billion per annum and over the next 10 years, the economy is forecast to grow by 21%.

As well as this, Leeds is now home to a wide range of key growth sectors including Healthcare and medical technologies, financial and business services, digital and creative and manufacturing.  


Major Employers

With Channel 4 relocating their head office to Leeds from London, they’re hoping to bring around 250 jobs with them. Leeds is also home to headquarters of ASDA Walmart, Yorkshire Bank, The NHS and ARLA Foods (to name a few) who all have significant operations within the city. Oh, and of course, The Recruitment Crowd headquarters! ;)




If shopping is your thing, Leeds is definitely up there with one of the best. Briggate is home to all of your shopping locations. The new development of Victoria Gate provides you with luxury and high-end shopping, including John Lewis Leeds, Harvey Nichols, Louis Vuitton and Mulberry. As well as this, Trinity Leeds shopping centre has a whole host of experiences including shopping, eating and drinking – not to forget the infamous Trinity Kitchen.




Home to 4 different universities, Leeds is a well-loved student city. The University of Leeds was ranked in the top 100 universities in the QS World University Rankings 2021 and is a member of the Russell group of research-intensive universities AND is the fifth largest uni in the UK.


With the city being held in such high esteem in regard to Education, many students are relocating from different parts of the country and even world to study in Leeds with some even going on to permanently live in the city post education.


Last but not least, Leeds is home to an entire host of sports teams, including Premier League Leeds United Football Club (who by the way have just released both this seasons new Premier League kit and Fixtures - We are extremely proud sponsors of the club.


The city is also home to Leeds Rhinos, Yorkshire County Cricket Club and Yorkshire Carnegie.
