We are looking for a consultant psychiatrist on behalf of one of our well-established clients.
The post holder will hold a CCST / CCT (or equivalent) in the relevant areas of Psychiatry and will have experience of working in inpatient settings with people with an acquired brain injury and Huntington’s disease.
You will be expected to take clinical responsibility for patients, including transdisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews and the development of a therapeutic milieu, as well as fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician to patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
You will be required to supervise the process of referral and admission including contributing to preadmission assessments of people with Acquired brain injury and Huntington's disease, with other team members and contributing to management meetings, clinical governance meetings for the services provided at the hospital, and contributing to the development and evaluation of services in collaboration with the Lead Consultant and Clinical Service Manager.

They should be a good team player and be keen to participate in a transdisciplinary approach to assessment, formulation and management plans.
The consultant agrees to hold and continue registration with the GMC including the relevant Specialist Register.
The consultant will be expected to provide evidence of their registration, if requested, by the Hospital Director or Medical Director.
Can work autonomously to agreed short and medium term objectives where professional advice will be immediately obvious. Able to understand the impact their actions will have on the care of the patient and the workings of the transdisciplinary team.
