Consistently identify and develop innovative and emerging technologies that enables my client to deliver market leading 5-star products:
Key Duties:

  • Define, develop and build the Hardware Engineering team, balancing both short and long-term objectives
  • Ensure all activities are aligned with the product roadmap and focus on solving real consumer needs
  • Provide hands on technical expertise to identify, prioritize and solve problems quickly and efficiently Identify key risks, develop mitigation strategies and concurrent development paths
  • Balance the need to meet short development timelines with an unwavering resolve while maintaining a relentless focus on long-term projects to deliver on future innovative products
  • Build long term, mutually beneficial supplier relationships and identify and develop strategic partnerships that drive innovation and support my client's goal of being the #1 Consumer Robotics company:
  • Consistently find and assess new suppliers that will drive shared outcomes and accountabilities while working within my clients fast-paced development environment
  • Invigorate and inspire suppliers and partners to focus all the resources they have on winning their business
  • Build an internal team of subject matter experts to develop more technologies in house and to maximize external partnerships
  • Lead and partner with cross functional peers to drive efficiencies and accountabilities:
  • Work with engineering leadership to build the Hardware function
  • Lead with agility, strong teamwork and an entrepreneurial mindset

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering; MBA or Master's in Engineering preferred, with a history of ground robotics system development, deployment, and support
  • Deep understanding of the fundamental technologies required to build robotic systems and the relative merits of candidate solution paths
  • Deep understanding of the impact of consumer product cost constraints on robotic system design & performance
  • 10+ years leadership experience in new product development focused on innovation and emerging technologies within a consumer product driven company
  • Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering background
  • Ability to balance being hands on and into the details with having the 30,000 feet perspective
  • Intuition on what consumers want and what works in the marketplace, ability to take in new learnings from field research
  • Ability to work cross functionally and own the success of the products jointly with the other disciplines
  • Previous experience working with global teams and with products manufactured in China preferred
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, deadline driven environment
  • Ability to travel globally
