Objective of role
The Production Leader is viewed as the Production and Lean expert within DC, a driver of change and the ambassador for Continuous improvement; owning end to end planning, co-ordination and control of the refurbishment facility.
The individual will ensure that the product is produced efficiently, to the correct quality levels, on time and within the costs agreed.
This role will lead on engineering and process solutions
Main Responsibilities

  • Takes responsibility for the safe and compliant operation of the DC Refurbishment facility
  • Ensures that all reporting is completed in regards to ISO, OHSAS Standards, Company Policy & line with the Health & Safety Act
  • Create, plan and organise the weekly refurbishment schedules
  • Ensure the refurbishment process is fully optimised
  • Assess project and resource requirements
  • Maintenance of day to day DC Refurbishment operations
  • Drive the Continuous Improvement program throughout DC refurbishment facility
  • Develops, mentors and coaches DC Refurb team to success, promoting positive customer service and recommending appropriate training interventions where necessary
  • Any other duties reasonably requested and which are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job.

Person Specification

  • Established leader from a manufacturing background to include an Engineering qualification in mechanical and/or engineering related discipline
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing & Production Engineering
  • Strong Managerial/delegation skills
  • Able to demonstrate comprehensive understanding and practice of change management techniques
  • Desirable but not essential experience in root cause analysis
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Good analytical and organisational skills
  • Demonstrate competent use of Microsoft packages
  • Excellent time management
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of workers
  • Proven ability to manage pressurised situations
