This role alternates weekly between AM and PM shifts.
The client is looking for an experienced manager to line manage the production / packing team that will consistently deliver against the plan and set KPI's / targets. As well as ensuring both the quality and safety of the team, you will be required complete shift reports, safety checks and equipment maintenance.
Duties will include:
- Cost Control
- Guaranteeing achievement of the production plan
- Stock Control
- Adhering to Health & Safety standards, including identifying any H&S issues within the area / team, maintaining a focus on risk reduction.
- General customer service
- Basic line management of team throughout the shift
- Manage, maintain and develop a highly motivated and multi skilled team
- Allocating work tasks & ordering required materials / material control
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all production, quality & hygiene documentation, ensuring standards in these areas are maintained including full completion of the DWOR
- To manage and resolve day to day problems within the team
- To manage the performance of the team including appraisals and training plans
- To effectively manage the initial stages of absence (inc the RTW process) and disciplinary issues ensuring compliance to company procedures
- To operate production equipment to deliver both output and quality objectives whilst at the same time ensuring legal compliance
- Reports to the Shift Manager (acting as deputy where needed)
To be considered for this role you must:
- ILM Level 3 or equivalent
- Have previous experience in food operations
- Line management experience within FMCG industry
- General IT skills- Excel, Word, Outlook
- General understanding of HACCP, COSHH, QA & Management Procedures
- General understanding of hygiene & health & safety procedures
- Ability to improve team performance in terms of line efficiency, cost reduction, waste reduction and quality standards
- Good literacy and numeracy skills for effective reporting
- Good organisational and time management skills
