Interim Head of Export – FMCG

£Competitive + Car Allowance + Excellent Incentive Programme

My client is a Global market leading FMCG Operator. We are currently recruiting for the key role of Interim Head of Export (to be based in the UK), as part of aggressive growth plans over the next 5 years.

We are looking for an ‘adrenaline junkie’, someone looking for a challenge to create something of their own.

This role is immediately an interim role with the possibility/potential to go permanent for the right individual.

The Role


The purpose of the position is to enable the company to achieve its vision, mission and objectives by providing strategic leadership, management and direction to the Export Channel within the company.

To manage, develop and exceed Export/International divisional financial objectives measured across Revenue, Gross Profit, Expenditure and PBT. To set and implement strategic development objectives for the Export/International division in conjunction with the Board to annual and 5-year plan. To manage and develop teams both internal and external to achieve and exceed personal and divisional objectives.

The Candidate

  • MUST have extensive experience within the FMCG Export arena – predominantly Europe
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Self-motivated and a decision maker, while cognisant of risk.
  • Time and project management – ability to identify and action priorities.
  • Proficient in Budget management and analysis of ROI (Sales & Marketing expenditure).
  • Good understanding of product compliance and regulatory framework relating to Food and Drink, notably in the EU.
  • Good understanding of International logistics and processes.
  • Strong IT literacy – experience using SAP an advantage.
  • Strong empathy and appreciation of other cultures and environments.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change a significant benefit.
  • Accustomed to, and possessing the gravitas for, working as a member of the company’s Senior Management Team.
